two feet of snow
Well we don't have two feet of the stuff out there but it is snowing.
Uggh.
Spring already please,
if you will.

walk blog 5
Well, I am now guilty of the sin of thievery.
On one of my walks I noted
that it was garbage and recycling day of the houses I was walking past.
Now I have been rinsing and saving containers for the laundry soap
that I have been making and giving away.
was a nice container very suitable for laundry soap as that was the original use for it.
Many things come into play:
how good of a container?
cars on the road?
anyone walking?
is the recycling truck nearby?
how far am I from home?
will the homeowner chase me?
Danger aside, I walk swiftly by and scoop up the container.
No one is pursuing me and I am now a thief.
As I continue on another container,
originally for juice, sits waiting for my nimble fingers.
As I walk by I scoop it up. I am a few steps away and I realise
that there is no lid on my loot.
Take it back?
Put it in another blue box further down the street?
I decide to keep it.
I am sure to have a lid that would fit it at home.
(What good is it being a hoarder if you don't have random sizes of lids just in case)
Because it is so cold out
there is a little bit of water left in the bottom of the second container.
The water had turned to a thin layer of ice which crumbles
and as I walk and now the crunkled ice clumks about
and noisily announces my thieving ways with every step.
I make my way home with my bounty,
carrying it as if I hadn't stolen them at all.
I was happy to discover a lid appropriate for the second container.
Thus begins my life of crime.

books of 2014
I haven't been good at wrapping the year 2014 up with a newsletter.
I have not prepared my purse calender for 2015
along with the copious amounts of interesting information in there.
Haven't even finished the fall photo album pictures.
Not a lot of year end summaries.
But I will report on the books that I have read over 2014.
A random bunch indeed.

Catherin Cookson is always a favourite.
Read this one before I gave it away.
Just how much time do I spend in the bathroom?
It may be helpful for trivia but
then again I am sure I have forgotten almost all of it

Borrowed and read - mostly in one afternoon.
Really enjoyed the first part which described the Dutch immigrant experience of decades ago.
Slogged through another one.
It was on my nightstand for months and
I read it piecemeal
and that is probably why I felt a lack of continuity.
The problem was mine, I am sure,
because she is known to be a great writer.
Have owned this one a long time. A nice enough read.
Surprised by this one.
The author has such a different personality than I do
but she let me into her life
and shared her story
and I am grateful.
So what is in store for 2015?
Hope at least one a month.
Maybe more.
Lots of variety.
Maybe I should also do some writing?

unbroken
Last week I blogged 'broken'.
No explanation.
When one has a scab covering a wound one is usually advised not to pick at it.
Eventually it will fall of and there will be fresh serviceable skin ready to
protect you from germs and to keep your blood and guts from spewing forth from your body.
Do it too early and there can be unfortunate circumstances.
So, in regarding to the post 'broken'
there is still no real explanation but perhaps a word picture.
I picked a scab off of an old wound.
One I thought had been healed.
Eventually it stopped bleeding
and then someone who I love
put a bandaid on it
and kissed it better.

chemistry
I wouldn't be able to tell a chemistry joke to save my life.
I am of no help during chemistry trivia questions.
I am sure chemistry is important.
But my brain is too full to try to understand it.
