gratitude week 2

Spouse or Significant Other.


Putting off, somewhat, this task because I am afraid that my words will not do him justice.

I have been married to my childhood sweetheart for almost 35 years. 

We met when I was 15  (that sounds pretty 'childhood' to me)

I love him for many different reasons 

but I suppose the best one is because he loves me back.

He has always worked very hard 

to provide the kind of life that we have.

We decided that we wanted to have lots of kids, 

if that was what God had in store for us.

I suppose He did because we ended up with 6 children. 

We share many things - some of which are as follows: 

our faith

the love for our family

our queen sized  - memory-foam with Alzheimer's - bed

a pretty good sense of humour and lots of laughter

the occasional toothbrush

This is not to say that we have a perfect relationship.

We do not always express our love to each other 

in the way that the other can best appreciated it.

We can both be selfish.

But I am pretty sure that he is the better person.

He makes the decisions for our family 

that have pretty much always 

been made with integrity and love.

I love to make him laugh.

We have been through a lot of things together 

(some not so great - some pretty awesome)

and 

I think that we both are the better 

for having what we have.

I am sure looking forward to the years ahead.
