Today I miss a cat.
Maybe because it is a Monday
and for the past number of Mondays I was at Leida's
and got to see their newest ball of fur, Dexter.

I don't miss the litterbox.
I don't miss the hair.

But I do miss furry softness.
I miss watching a cat stretching out full, toes splayed.
I miss hearing the purring motorboats.
I miss witnessing their curiosity.

But I am glad for the moment that I do not own a cat.
Maybe I should rent one.
