Books I have Read in 2016 Part 1

 So these are some of the books that I read in 2016

Some a joy

Some a chore

 Another Oprah Book Club pick.

I did like this one. Mostly.

But I am afraid not Memorably.

 A very quick that put me in a holidayish mood.

Pretty much anything Lucado writes I enjoy.

 We had spoken of this book with some friends 

and it reminded me of how good it was.

I had read it years ago.

It was still a very good read.

 Saw the miniseries first and then realized that I owned the book

Gave it a shot because I found the miniseries interesting.

Not quite biblically accurate but a glimpse 

into a time that no one really has the full picture of. 

This, to me, was a snapshot of how it might have been, 

a little bit, anyways.

 Another Oprah Book Club selection

A bit of a hard book and hard to follow in some spots 

but a glimpse into a culture and time that I was touched by.

 Oh wow. Another Oprah Book Club selection.

One that I could not get into.

In fact when reviewing the list of the read books 

I had trouble recalling that I had read it at all.

Nadda. Nothing.

I could not recall a character or a plot line.

I must have read it way to fast 

and when I realised that I was not enjoying it 

I whipped my way through the rest of it.

I will have to give it a try again sometime.'

 Good old Catherine Cookson. 

A long-time favourite of mine.

Clearly her best work was the earlier books

But I love this author so much I will read anything of hers 

and enjoy it.

So I got into a Catherine Cookson mood.

I am sure that I read this before but it was a 

great way to remind myself of the Kate character

 before I started the next one...............

 Picked up this one because I was in the middle of watching the entire Dick Van Dyke Show on YouTube.

Loved the tv series and the book was utterly delightful.

He takes us along on his wonderful ride through life.

Dick, you charmed me thoroughly.

I have seen Dyer on PBS 

and have enjoyed his talks/teachings a number of times 

and thought that I would pick up one of his books.

What a load of gobbledy gook.

I am sure that some would get something entirely different 

out of it than I did.

I did try to 'get it' but it seems these guru's 

seem to find different ways to say the same things.

Live a good life and you will live a good life.

It was a chore to read. My loss I am sure.
